| The Senate passed S.F. 79, a $384 million dollar supplemental budget bill. The bill would balance the state debt for fiscal year 2003 with one-time cuts, permanent cuts and through accounting shifts. The Senate's bill is about 24 million less than Governor Tim Pawlenty's recommendation. Unlike the Governor's plan, the Senate continues to fund grants for the state's ethanol producers and cut's five million less than the Governor from each of the state's Higher Education institutions. |
