About the Debate:
The Senate overrode Gov. Ventura's veto of HF 2570 - the auto glass replacement bill and passed SF 3431 - a bill that extends unemployment benefits on Special Orders. On a vote of 52-13, the Senate overrode Ventura's veto of HF 2570. The bill prohibits auto glass installers from offering incentives, like free steaks, to customers. The bill also requires insurers to notify customers that they can select their own auto glass installer.

On a vote of 44-20, SF 3431 was passed. The bill provides laid-off workers from the airline industry, Fingerhut, Farmland Foods, and Potlatch paper mill an additional 26 weeks of unemployment benefits. It also extends unemployment benefits for 13 weeks for others recently unemployed.
