| The Committee passes several bills including: SF 2539- construction of a major league baseball park in St. Paul and SF 2656- community ownership of the Minnesota Twins. Supporters of SF 2539 included: St. Paul Mayor Randy Kelly, St. Paul City Councilmember Dan Bostrom, and representatives from labor and the Chamber of Commerce. Opponents of the bill including, Dan McGrath of Progressive Minnesota, also testified. SF 2539 passed and was referred to the Tax Committee. Other bills passed by the Committee: SF 2881- relating to Housing- discretionary municipal subdivision authority; SF 2656- community ownership of the Minnesota Twins; SF 2963- transferring the duties of the State Treasurer to the Commissioner of Finance; SF 2531- Minneapolis Firefighters pensions; and more. |
