| This bill opens the I-394 carpool-bus lane (sane lane) to all traffic to study the
effect on traffic flow and safety. The study would take about six weeks with a
report due to the Legislature on February 1, 2002. Opponents believe that
opening the sane lanes will lead to congestion and will make drivers less likely
to carpool. Senator Dick Day, R-Owatonna, sponsored Senate File 0257.
