| About the Bill: | |
| This plan constitutionally dedicates
60 percent of the sales taxes on new and used cars and trucks for highway
needs. Currently, most of this money goes into the general fund. The bill
would require voters to approve the amendment. In addition, the legislation
appropriates $200 million from the budget surplus to transportation. Senator Dick Day, R-Owatonna, authored Senate File 0163.
The bill passed and was referred to the Committee on Finance. |
