About the Bill:
This bill allows for more low-income seniors to qualify for state assistance to help pay for prescription drugs. Under the bill, seniors would no longer be subject to an asset limit of $10,000 and income limits for seniors is increased from 120 percent of the federal poverty level to 150 percent. A provision also creates a sliding-scale monthly deductible based on income levels instead of a fixed $35 monthly deductible. Senator Dallas Sams, DFL-Staples, sponsored Senate File 0325.
