| Video Coverage: Requires that women wait 24 hours and receive certain information before getting an abortion | |
| About the Bill: | |
| This proposal requires that women wait 24 hours and receive certain
information before getting an abortion. The bill requires that information on
adoption, child support, fetal development, and other issues be provided to
women seeking an abortion. Opponents of the bill maintain that informed
consent is already required by law. A similar bill was vetoed by the Governor
last year.
Senator Michelle Fischbach, R-Paynesville, sponsored Senate File 0217. The bill failed to pass the committee on a 7-4 roll call vote. |
