| This legislation authorizes a study to
determine and compare the recidivism rates of DWI offenders who are subject
to electronic alcohol monitoring with those who are not. The goal is to find
out if electronic alcohol monitoring is an effective tool in reducing recidivism.
The commissioner will report the results of the study on February 15, 2002. Senator Satveer Chaudhary, DFL-Fridley, authored Senate File 0773.
