| Committee: Crime Prevention | |
| Video Coverage: (Continued) Appropriation of money for the continued development of CriMNet, a statewide integrated criminal justice system. | |
| About the Bill: | |
| The CriMNet legislation is the second installment to the multi-year plan, also known as Katie's Law.
Currently, Minnesota's criminal justice agencies do not use integrated systems
or protocols to collect, store, or disseminate criminal justice data. This bill
appropriates a total of $41.5 million to the Supreme Court, the Department of
Safety, the BCA and the Department of Corrections for various CriMNet
initiatives. Senator Jane Ranum, DFL-Minneapolis, sponsored Senate File 0038.
The bill passed and was re-referred to the Committee on Finance. |
