Under current law, drugs and medical devices are exempt from sales tax, as are accessories and supplies necessary for home use of durable medical equipment and use of prosthetic devices if the equipment or device is purchased in a transaction covered by Medicare or Medicaid. This bill exempts items purchased in a transaction covered under Medicare, Medicaid, or a private health plan that are not already exempt under current law.
Effective for sales and purchases made after June 30, 2018.
