In general, purchasing by Hennepin County is subject to the Uniform Municipal Contracting Law in Minnesota Statutes, section 471.345, except as otherwise provided in Hennepin County’s local law (chapter 383B).

S.F. 3793 authorizes Hennepin County to use direct negotiation for a contract estimated to not exceed $250,000 if the business is certified as a small business enterprise or a small business that is majority owned and operated by a veteran or service-disabled veteran.
