Section 1. Planning For Students’ Successful Transition to Postsecondary Education and Employment; Personal Learning Plans. Requires a school district to provide military recruiters with access to secondary students similar to the access provided to higher education institutions or prospective employers of students. Encourages districts to sponsor an armed forces career opportunity day each school year.

Section 2. School counselors. Encourages counselors to present and explain the career opportunities and benefits offered by the United States armed forces. Encourages counselors to share information with the student or parent about the military enlistment test.

Section 3. Professional Growth. Allows counselors, social workers, and other teachers who do not provide direct instruction to satisfy the requirement to demonstrate professional reflection and growth in best practices by submitting evidence of training on armed forces career options.
