S.F. No. 675 - DNR Law Enforcement Provisions

Author: Senator Bill Ingebrigtsen

Prepared By: Chris Turner, Senate Fiscal Analyst (651/296-4350)

Date: March 17, 2011

Section 1 includes the Enforcement Division of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in the definition of “law enforcement agency” for the purpose of participating in the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension’s Comprehensive Incident-Based Reporting System (CIBRS).

Section 2 eliminates the July 1, 2011, sunset from the authorization for DNR enforcement officers to use silencers and deletes the limit on the number of silencers maintained by the Department as well as storage requirements when the silencers are not in use.
