Author: Senator Kathy Sheran

Prepared By:

Date: March 16, 2011

Section 1 (256B.056, subdivision 3) provides that when a person who has been enrolled in Medical Assistance-Employed Persons with Disabilities (MA-EPD) for 24 consecutive months reaches age 65, MA-EPD asset disregard policies must be disregarded. These disregards do not apply if the person or the spouse requests Medical Assistance long-term care services.
Section 2 (256B.057, subdivision 9) deletes the requirement that MA-EPD recipients be between the ages of 16 and 65.
Section 3 is a blank appropriation section.
